The dot-painting technique comes from Australia,
where it was and is used by the Aboriginals. It is an original
manner to mcreate art and actually very suited.
The basis whereon we apply the technique, will be different each
session and may consist of the most different materials, as there
are paper or canvas, but just as well on stone, wood or metal.
The first to learn is the technique to apply the dots with a stick
and paint (acrylic).Especially earth-colors are used. In our first
try-outs we base ourselves on the symbols of the Aboriginals, but
you will see that everyone will develop its own new forms very
quickly. Depending on the progress of the course, the participants
can eventually and in joint consultation make a bigger piece of
art.
To folow these courses, no prior artistic education is needed.
This however does not prohibit to come to astounding results in
a very short period of time. |
